Office of the Dean of Students

Note from the Dean of Students

Greetings Razorback Community,

It’s an honor to serve you — and the broader campus community — as your Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students. Alongside my dedicated team, I am deeply committed to your success, your personal growth, and helping you navigate any challenges that may arise during your time at the University of Arkansas.

Our work centers on connecting you with the right resources and opportunities for involvement — both within and beyond the Division of Student Affairs. I encourage you to explore the offices listed below, which are part of the Dean of Students suite of services and programs.

University life comes with highs, lows, and everything in between. There will be moments of triumph, near misses, and times when things don’t go as planned. From my 20+ years working with college students, I’ve learned that these moments often lead to the most meaningful growth — and you don’t have to face them alone.

The Office of the Dean of Students is here for you. We’re committed to normalizing the act of reaching out and saying, “I need help.” That’s why we’re here. We are a community that values support and care for one another, so please don’t hesitate to ask for help—for yourself or for someone else.

We invite you to connect with us. Visit us on the 3rd floor of the Administration Building (Room 321 —look for the large “Dean of Students” banner) or email us at 4student@uark.edu. We’re here to support you and help you find the answers you’re looking for.

We look forward to walking alongside you on your academic journey. Go hogs!

Monica D. Holland, PhD.
Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students

Resources

The Office of Student Accountability supports student growth by providing a fair and educational conduct process. While not a criminal court system, it encourages responsibility and integrity. You can learn more about relevant polices in the Code of Student Life.

Welcome to Greek Life at the University of Arkansas! Rooted in scholarship, service, leadership, and lifelong friendships, our Greek community offers meaningful opportunities for growth and connection. Discover how joining a fraternity or sorority can enrich your college experience and become part of a proud Razorback tradition.

The Sexual and Relationship Violence Center (SRVC) offers free, confidential support and advocacy for students impacted by sexual or relationship violence. Focused on education, prevention, and healing, the SRVC is here to help you navigate resources and feel supported throughout your time at the University.

The office of UA Cares seeks to empower students to take advantage of the offices and services that exist on the University of Arkansas campus and in the local community in a manner that allows them to achieve their full potential during their time at our university.

The Student Handbook encompasses the Code of Student Life, the Housing Policy, the Greek Life Social Policy, and the Registered Student Organizations and Events Policy. The Student Handbook will help you understand the behaviors expected from a positive member of the University of Arkansas Razorback family.

The University of Arkansas also provides many services designed to create a safe environment on campus and to help prevent violence. More than 1,300 lights shine across the U of A campus at night and Facilities Management keeps bushes and shrubbery trimmed to provide a clean and safe environment.

The University of Arkansas is committed to maintaining a supportive, educational environment that seeks to enhance the well-being of all members of its community. Hazing is a crime under Arkansas law and University policy. The University of Arkansas prohibits hazing, in any form, against any member of the campus community.

Student travel offers opportunities to engage in conferences, events, and activities beyond campus. Student Death

The Dean of Students Office is the primary point of contact for the university in the event of a student death. A staff member will make initial contact with the student’s family and provide outreach to friends and ensure support for those impacted.
